We’re finally there. Acting Like a Man, our wonderful puppet sex farce will take place at on December 6 at 7:00pm at Assemble (5125 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA). Admission is $5.00 in advance (email actinglikeaman2014@gmail.com to reserve a spot) or 7.00 dollars at the door. Complementary beverages will be served during the performance. I recently finished the final puppet for Acting Like a Man which I’m calling “Big Blue”. Space research and actor recruiting is next. “Future Tenant” in downtown Pittsburgh and “Space” is Garfield look promising.
Acting Like a Man is a comedic puppet show based on a friend’s love life and the imprisonment of the Marquis de Sade as depicted in Philip Kaufman’s film “Quills”. Acting Like a Man evolved from a seven person play to a show with puppets and live actors. After several rehearsals, we found that puppets and live actors best represent the silly and exaggerated actions of each of the characters in Acting Like a Man.
This blog will include still images of the puppets in Acting Like a Man as well as video clips of rehearsals and our final performance.
I am currently finishing puppet number three (out of three) for this performance which I have temporarily labeled “big blue” as he is big and blue.
